Police dealt with multiple issues involving mental health problems over the weekend.

Just before 11 a.m., witnesses reported a shirtless man jumping around at the corner of 8th and Adams while screaming at cars. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a familiar face with known mental health issues. Police told him to move along.

Just a few minutes later, police were called to the Dollar General after a person dealing with drug addiction requested help. Officers stood by and contacted the Quick Reaction Team. A counselor took the individual to rehab.

At noon, they received a report that a man had overdosed in the parking lot of The Counseling Center on 6th Street. Workers managed to revive him and he checked into the facility.

At 11:30 pm, Speedway employees reported two men were outside the doors to the business drinking and panhandling for money. Police barred one individual from the store.

An upset father called the police to report his son seemed to be on drugs and kept hitting his head and staring off into space. Police spoke to the man and advised him to go to bed for the night.
