Once again, Portsmouth Police responded to a complaint about a panhandler at the Speedway on Gallia.
You’ll recall that the problem has gotten so bad that Speedway’s corporate security contacted PPD to complain. Officers caught up with the man who was asking customers for money and told him to leave the property. He did as he was told.
A panhandler flagged down officers just after 11 am to report an incident at the Kroger on Gay Street. He said he asked another man in the parking lot for money, and the man told him he would have the Hell’s Angels come after him. Officers advised the man to contact them if the man threatened him again.
Speedway called officers just before 1 pm to report a man was in front of the building pestering customers for cash. Police banned him from the property and warned him he’d be arrested for criminal trespassing if he returned.
