Two Drivers Found Passed Out Behind the Wheel Within 20 Minutes at Woodbine Apartments
Officers responded to two incidents of drivers passed out at the Woodbine Apartments on Kendall Avenue within 20 minutes.
The first call came in just before 7 pm. A caller reported a man slumped over in a white Toyota truck.
Officers learned the man was having medical issues after a fall. Police sent for an ambulance which transported the man to the hospital.
About 15 minutes later, callers reported another man passed out in a vehicle. Officers took that man into custody and arranged for his vehicle to be towed.
Passed Out at the Dollar General
Officers responded to a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle parked at the Harding Avenue Dollar General just before noon.
The man declined medical treatment, but since his driver’s license was suspended, police did not let him drive away. He arranged for a friend to pick up his vehicle.
Passed Out in the Taco Bell Drive-Thru
Around 11:30 pm, witnesses reported a woman passed out in the drive-thru at Taco Bell.
When officers arrived at the scene, the woman explained she was living with both epilepsy and blood sugar issues and had not taken her insulin.
She contacted a friend to pick her up and parked her vehicle in the restaurant parking lot.
Officers returned to the Taco Bell at 3:30 am, after another caller reported an unconscious woman in a vehicle that they could not rouse.
Police discovered it was the same woman from the earlier call. She said she was still waiting for a ride.
