1. Pedestrian Hit By Car
Just after 2 pm, officers and EMS responded to a report of a pedestrian that was hit by a car at 4th and Gay Streets.
Police took the driver’s insurance and collected witness statements. They said the final report would depend on what they saw when they viewed videos of the accident.
2. Stranger Danger – Man Follows Woman at Kroger
A woman flagged down an officer at 9:30 am to report a disturbing incident at Kroger. She said she was at the pumps when she was approached by a man she thought was acting suspiciously. She said he acted as if he were getting gas but did not.
After she filled up her car, she headed to the main store lot to shop, and the man parked right next to her. He approached her and said, “You’re not from around here, are you?”
When she replied that she was, the man said, “Well, I’m not, and you look too good to be from around her.” The man then started walking quickly towards her, so she got back in her car and locked the doors.
She left the store parking lot, but the man followed her. The woman said she had to break a few traffic laws to lose him, but finally got away and flagged down an officer.
She said the man was driving a white SUV with a Kentucky tag. Officers searched the area for the suspect but could not locate him.
3. Drunken and Disorderly on Summit Street
Just after 11 pm, officers responded to a report of people fighting on Summit Street. When officers arrived on the scene, they found both parties involved in the disagreement were intoxicated and unable to follow basic commands.
Police warned them they could be cited for persistent disorderly conduct if they didn’t get it together.
At 11:45 pm, a Brookwood Drive caller reported his spouse was drunk and had thrown a cup at him. Officers checked in with the couple and advised them to calm down.
The husband called back five minutes after officers left the scene to make the same complaint again. Police advised the pair they could also be arrested for persistent disorderly conduct.
