Officers from Pike County made four big busts in six days.  In the course of four days, deputies from the Pike County Sheriff’s Office found heroin, meth, 91 pot plants, weapons, a pile of cash, a stolen vehicle, and several people who just don’t like to obey the law.  Then Waverly Police Department Officers seized money, drugs, and guns in the parking lot of Kroger.

Multiple suspects were arrested. Some of them took some darn fine mugshots. Let’s take a look at what’s been going on. We’ll break it down into four slides.

Threats Against Police

Timothy Dewitt

On Friday, Sheriff James Nelson and his deputies, along with the Special Response Team of the Chillicothe Police Department raided the Rainbow Trail home of Timothy Dewitt, 54.

Mr. Dewitt had repeatedly called the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and threatened officers. In fact, he’s charged with calling 22 times. Dewitt is also charged with persisting disorderly conduct.

Despite the threats, he was arrested without incident and taken to the Butler County Jail. He’s currently being held without bond.

Court records show he was charged with intimidation back in 2009. Those charges were dismissed.

91 Pot Plants, Child Endangerment

What started as a call for an overdose call on Beavers Ridge ended with police seizing drugs and weapons.

Overdose Call

The call came in on Sunday. When police responded to the scene, they found 30-year-old Amber Jackson unresponsive in the bathroom of a home. Pike County EMS transported her to Adena Pike Medical Center for treatment.

Here’s what police found in the house:

  • 91 marijuana plants
  • Suspected methamphetamine
  • Drug abuse instruments
  • 12 gauge shotgun

Also Arrested

Police say James Conley tried to hide from the deputies. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for drug trafficking.

  • Possession of drug abuse instruments
  • Cultivation
  • Child endangering

A case will be presented to the next term of the Pike County Grand Jury.

3
Pike County Drug Bust Needles

Heroin, Meth, and Guns

Pike County’s third big bust in four days netted deputies drugs and weapons. That bust went down just after midnight on Monday. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with Portsmouth, Waverly, and Piketon Police Departments for the operation. Also joining in were Pike County Adult Probation.

They raided a residence at Moore Meadows Apartment in Piketon and also hit a home on Sugar Run Road.

Here’s what they found:

  • Ten grams of heroin
  • Bundles of methamphetamine
  • Two firearms (one stolen)
  • Stolen vehicle
  • $4,000 in cash

Several individuals were also taken into custody. The Sheriff’s Office did not provide any names.

Sheriff Nelson did offer his thanks to the Portsmouth Police SWAT Team for their help in the operation. The investigation is ongoing.

4
Pike County BUst

Pile Of Money

The latest bust went down on Thursday morning in the parking lot of Kroger. Waverly PD officers conducted a traffic stop on a tan Ford Explorer.

When they pulled the vehicle over, they caught the unmistakable scent of marijuana. Cops could also see pot and drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.  Here’s what they found when they searched it:

  •  20g of Methamphetamine,
  • Marijuana
  • “DAB” tar form of Marijuana,
  • Cash
  • 9mm semi auto handgun

John Tatman, 49, of Chillicothe was arrested. He already had a Ross County warrant for probation violation. Tatman was charged with:

  • Possession of drugs
  • Trafficking in drugs
  • Having weapons under a disability

Plus he’s also in trouble for having a fake license plate and not using a turn signal.
