A police cadet from Ross County had a wild experience driving through Minford just before 2 am. He said a woman ran out of the woods and told him she’d been assaulted by her girlfriend. He called for deputies and tried to talk to the woman, but she said she didn’t want the police.
The officer followed her in his vehicle, and she called 9-1-1 to report he was following her. She said she suffered from PTSD and he was making it worse.
The officer then said the woman was breaking into a home. The resident of the home called officers and said they needed help for a woman in the middle of a domestic situation.
Deputies arrived at the home and found that the woman wasn’t making much sense, so they requested an ambulance. They said she appeared impaired but insisted she didn’t want police involved in her domestic situation. She told officers it was a verbal altercation that triggered her PTSD.
Two passengers with the police cadet confirmed his version of the story. An ambulance transported the woman to the hospital.
