Police Chase on St. Rt. 73
Just before 2 am, officers attempted to pull over a blue Nissan truck for a traffic offense on St. Rt. 73. However, the driver kept going and ended up turning onto McDermott Pond Creek Road.
The driver wasn’t going particularly fast; speeds never passed 40 miles an hour. But, eventually, they did pull over.
Deputies called for OSP to do a sobriety test and issued the driver a citation for not having visible plates.
Rent a Center Repo Goes Bad
An attempted repossession of items from Rent-A-Center went sideways just after 5:30 pm. A woman claimed workers from the business were at her home and refusing to leave. She said they were threatening her husband.
When police arrived, they learned the workers were there to recover items that the residents had missed payments on.
The people refused to return the property and wanted the employees to leave. Officers advised the Rent-A-Center employees they would have to take the people to civil court to get the property back.
