Police were called to deal with people who had passed out in various locations, including a bank drive-thru and even on a motorcycle.
Callers Report Person Passed Out on Levy
Just after 12:30 pm, witnesses reported someone passed out near the levy at 10th and Court Streets. Callers said the person was near a tent.
When Portsmouth Police arrived on the scene, they found a woman asleep under a makeshift tent. Officers told her people were concerned and advised her to pack up her tent and move it from city property.
Just after 9:30 pm, a caller flagged down an officer to report a man lying on the ground in Tracy Park. When officers went to investigate, they discovered a man charging his phone and told him to move along.
Passed Out at Fifth Third Drive Thru
Just after 5 pm, a caller reported a man lying down between the drive-thru for Fifth Third and the old bank building.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a severely intoxicated man whom they weren’t able to wake up. Officers called for a fire department squad to check him out.
EMS transported the man to SOMC for treatment.
The next day, the manager of Kroger reported a man in a black leather jacket had passed out in their lot, then gotten up and staggered to the Fifth Third Bank drive-thru.
Officers took the man into custody.
Passed Out Behind The Wheel at Speedway
Witnesses at the Lucasville Speedway called 911 at 3 am to report a woman slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. They said the car was in drive, and the woman had her foot on the break.
The woman woke up and then drove straight into a pole in the parking lot before turning onto US23.
Dispatch notified Ohio State Troopers, and deputies began to search the area for the woman. However, they weren’t able to locate her.
Biker Passes Out on Motorcycle
Just after 9 pm, police responded to a report of a man passed out on a motorcycle in the 1700 block of Kendall.
When officers arrived on the scene, they took the man into custody. Police booked him into the Scioto County Jail on disorderly conduct charges.
