A disturbing 911 call about a man and woman arguing while carrying a baby sent police racing to 4th and Chillicothe Street.
Officers quickly located the woman on 4th Street and arrested her. Police identified her as Erin Peace, who was booked into the Scioto County Jail on a charge of criminal trespass.
The search then turned to the man, who was tracked to the Park Apartments. Officers soon discovered he had open warrants from Texas — and that Texas authorities were willing to extradite him. He was taken into custody and booked into the Scioto County Jail alongside Peace. (There were 2 men arrested as fugitives from justice that day. So, we cannot determine the man associated with this call)
While the baby at the center of the original call was unharmed, police say reports involving children are treated with the highest urgency. What begins as a domestic dispute can quickly escalate into something far more dangerous.
Calling 911 when children are believed to be at risk is always the right decision. In this case, a worried passerby’s quick call not only brought help to the scene but also led to two arrests — one on local charges and another tied to an out-of-state warrant.
