A Portsmouth man faces 17 felony charges related to child exploitation following a shocking indictment by a Scioto County Grand Jury.
Authorities arrested 31-year-old Brady McClurg at his Summit Street home on Tuesday morning after an extensive investigation into alleged pandering of obscenity involving a minor. The Portsmouth Police Department (PPD) launched its probe after receiving a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, which flagged illicit materials being shared from a local address.
Acting swiftly, detectives executed a search warrant at McClurg’s residence, where they confiscated multiple electronic devices suspected of containing evidence of child sexual abuse material. According to court documents, McClurg is accused of “creating, reproducing, or publishing obscene material” featuring a minor female. The indictments indicate that the alleged crimes took place between June and August of 2024.
