It took multiple doses of Narcan to revive an overdose victim and a caller reports a child left alone in a car on Walnut. We hit the highlights of the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing.
Suspicious Activity
Just before 5 am, a caller told police that a maroon driver followed him and was now parked on the access road near the river. However, by the time officers arrived, the caller had left the scene.
Man in the Road
An officer spotted a man walking on US 52 East at 9:06 am. The man initially refused to identify himself and the officer detained him for a brief lecture about traffic safety. The man agreed to stay out of traffic and was last seen walking in the grass next to the highway.
Animal Control In Need
An Animal Control officer needed assistance after getting their hand stuck in the fence behind Portsmouth Monument Company on Offnere. EMS responded at 9:11 am to help out.
Shacking up at AT & T Wireless
Police responded to a report of a man attempting to set up a shack at the AT & T Wireless on Gallia. He’d left the scene by the time officers arrived, but left behind a lot of garbage.
Police notified City Services to pick up the trash.
Domestic Violence
Police responded to a report of domestic violence on Summit Street just after 1 pm. A juvenile complained that r adult relatives assaulted them and their girlfriend.
Officers notified CPS and took a man and woman into custody.
To Tell The Truth
Officers responded to Wayne Hills just after 1 pm for a report of a man and woman fighting. Police searched for the woman on foot. She initially gave a false name to the officer.
Police said they would write reports for falsification and obstructing justice.
Under the Influence
An employee at the Super Quik on the Scioto Trail contacted officers just before 2 pm to report that an apparently high woman had been in the store for several hours. She left before the police arrived.
It took three rounds of Narcan to revive an overdose victim on 6th Street. Just after 2 pm, first responders headed to the scene when a woman called for help.
The man woke up after three doses of Narcan. An ambulance offered additional medical treatment.
Child Left in Car on Walnut Street
Just before 5 pm, a caller reported a six-year-old sitting along in black Chrysler on Walnut Street in front of a house where possible drug activity had taken place.
When police arrived, they found that the parents were at the door of the house 10 yards away from the vehicle speaking to a friend. Everything was fine.
