Portsmouth Police weird crime

Portsmouth, Ohio officers responded to some WEIRD crime reports on Saturday. From a feud over a foot rub to a scooter stuck in an alley to people so drunk they couldn’t operate a door. My head is still spinning a little from some of these calls. Check out the highlights in these next 14 slides.

Ooops, Wrong Number

Just before 1:30 am, 911 received a call. No one was on the other end, but the dispatcher heard two men arguing on an open line and traced the call to a 16th Street address.

When officers arrived on the scene, they detected a heavy marijuana smell from the home. The woman who answered the door told police everything was fine. She accidentally called 911. Police said everything looked okay and left.

At 1:16 pm, officers were called to Taco Bell for a report that the same woman took a credit card. When police spoke to her, she said she didn’t have the card and that the man was following her around.  Officers advised on how to report a stolen card and told the man to stop following her around.

You Could Thank Me For This Foot Rub

A foot rub gone wrong turned into a police matter at 11:33 am. A man threw a fit and threatened to kill himself.

Bicycle Battle

Another feuding couple involved police at 11:39 am. Officers responded to 23rd street on a report of a disturbance.

They found a woman sitting on the sidewalk crying next to a bicycle. She said her ex-boyfriend dragged her, beat her up, and took her phone.

She said her bicycle went missing a week ago. She told the ex that if someone found the bike and brought it back, she’d pay them.  The ex texted her and claimed to have found the bike. She agreed to meet him to retrieve the bike.

When she arrived, she said he accused her of inviting him just to accuse him of stealing the bike. When she tried to walk away with the bicycle, he began to follow her.  When he wouldn’t stop, she decided to call the police. He took the phone away from her and fled down the Scioto Trail.  Police took a report and began to look for the man.
