Officers responded to an area Walmart after store security reported they’d caught shoplifters in the act.
When deputies arrived at the South Point Walmart, the loss prevention officer said he’d observed two men acting suspiciously in the store aisles. One man took sandpaper from a shelf and handed it to his companion. The companion took it out of the package and put it in his pocket.
One of the men also helped himself to some bedding without paying for it. Officers learned both men were staying at a nearby drug rehab facility.
Lawrence County deputies arrested both men and booked them into the Lawrence County Jail.
