A desperate woman contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office for help after the heat went out in her rental home. She told officers her landlord lived just across the street but refused to answer the door.
The callers said she’d contacted the Scioto County Health Department, but they told her there was nothing she could do.
A deputy went across the street to attempt to speak to the landlord, but no one answered the door.
Around the same time, a Bihl Lane resident told officers her neighbor kept turning off the main breaker for her apartment but the property manager refused to do anything about it.
Officers spoke with the neighbor who said he’d been having issues with the breakers popping in his apartment and the landlord had explained how to turn them off and on. Deputies noted that the boxes were labeled for each apartment and it was easy to turn them off and on.
