Deputies were called to a home on St. Rt. 650 for a report of loose dogs on the attack. A woman told officers she heard dogs barking around 7 am and went outside to discover her neighbor’s dogs inside her goat pen attacking her goat.
She said the dogs ran away when she yelled, and the goat suffered a small cut. She said they’d made a report about a similar incident last month, and now she was ready to press charges.
The deputy saw at least five large dogs running free in the area. They attempted to contact the owners and reported that several aggressive dogs met them at the end of the driveway. Neighbors told them the owners were out of town. The deputy contacted the Lawrence County Dog Warden to look into the matter.
