Richard Holsinger, 80, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday, October 12, 2024, in the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on July 21, 1944, in Lucasville, he was a son of the late Dewey and Lorene Holsinger.
Richard was mechanic for Schwerman Trucking and most recently for Pepsi.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Donna Jean Holsinger, brothers, Ralph, George, Jessie, David and Frank Holsinger, sisters, Jean Stone and Carol Whisman, and a great-granddaughter.
Richard was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Viet Nam era.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joan Holsinger, two daughters, Tina Holsinger and Misty (David) Luther, all of Wheelersburg; a sister, Shirley Conley of Wheelersburg, two grandchildren, Carl Scott, and Gabriel (Mikayla) Scott and a very special great-granddaughter, Lainey Joan Scott and many nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance will be held at noon on Thursday, October 17th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Bishop Sam Salyer and Pastor Dean Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park with military honors by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
The American flags, along with the U.S. Army flag, will fly on the avenue in honor of our brave veteran, Richard Holsinger.
