Roger “Jerry” Cooper, age 81, of New Boston, passed away on December 19, 2025, at Best Care Nursing and Rehab Center in Wheelersburg.
He was born on December 22, 1943, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Paul Cooper and Delilah (Cook) Holsinger. Jerry spent his working years in the manufacturing industry, where he was employed as a sander. He was known as a dedicated worker who took pride in his work and valued reliability and consistency throughout his career.
Jerry was a quiet man who enjoyed a simple life and time spent with family. He will be remembered for his steady nature, strong work ethic, and the years he shared with those closest to him.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ethel (Porter) Cooper; his sister, Joan Russell; brother, Larry Cooper and brothers-in-laws, George Vallance, Darvin Russell, Dave Vallance and Ken Jones.
He is survived by his sisters, Phyllis Valance, Marlene (Jeff) Queen, Vicki (Sam) Fannin, and Lois Jones; brothers, Greg (Trish) Holsinger, and Virgil Holsinger, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Funeral Service is Tuesday, December 23, 2025, 1:00PM at D.W. Swick & Son, Funeral and Cremation Services in Wheelersburg with Robert Morrow officiating; interment to follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be 11:00AM- 1:00PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
