Roger “Kenny” Kenneth McNutt Sr., 62, of West Portsmouth, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 31, 1963, to the late Wendall McNutt and Mary Jane (Holsinger) Vaughn; along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Trebor Vaughn, and his brothers, Ronnie McNutt and Gary McNutt.
Kenny was a retired member of the IBEW Local 575 and was employed by Hatzel and Buehler, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his trade. Outside of work, he found joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and he had a lifelong appreciation for classic cars. He valued simple pleasures and meaningful moments, whether working in the garage, spending time outside, or relaxing at home. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who deeply cherished time spent with his family; his children and grandchildren were truly his heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bea (Murphy) McNutt; his son, Roger Kenneth (Brooke) McNutt Jr; his daughters, Marcie (Cody) Bricker and McKenzie (Corey) Summers; his brother, Dwane (Penny) McNutt; his sisters, Tammy (Nick Cooper) Vaughn Pendleton, Missy Vaughn Boyd, and Debbie (Steve) Gray; his grandchildren, Braelynn, Brigham, and Brynn Bricker, and Grayson Stricklett and Allie Summers; his lifelong friends, John Taylor and Shane Pendleton; and his beloved dog, Bailey.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating.
