A patient who’d run away from a Georgetown, Ohio, group home for those dealing with mental health issues called 9-1-1 from the Wheelersburg Kroger to turn himself in. He said he’d left the facility in the company of a woman the night before.
Officers contacted Brown County Deputies, who requested they bring the man to the Sheriff’s Office so someone could pick him up. The man had no open warrants, so there was no reason to hold him.
The man waited in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office until someone from the group home arrived to get him.
