Ruth Carolyn Delabar, 84, of Portsmouth, died on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice Center, with her family by her bedside. Born on January 1, 1941, in South Shore, KY.
Ruth was a 1960 graduate of Portsmouth High School and a 1993 graduate of Shawnee State University with an associate degree in Business Management and worked at the Williams Shoe Factory and Mills Pride.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lemons and Bertha French Lewis; two brothers, Richard Lemons and Bill Lemons and two sisters, Phyllis Robinson and Betty Reed.
Surviving are two daughters, Lucinda (Tim) Mowery and Tisha Delabar; a son, Troy (Cindy) Delabar; a brother, Paul David (Vicki) Lemons; grandchildren, John Yancy Kayser, Seth and Shei Mowery, Kevin (Stacey) Delabar, Alyssa (Drew) Williams, Lauren (D.J.) Pearsall. Chloe Delabar, Bryce McGraw and Brayden Potts and great-grandchildren, Addelyn and Brynlee Delabar, Cole and Canaan Kayser and Emmi and Ivy Williams and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the I.B.E.W. Local 575 Union Hall, 110 Offnere Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662
Arrangements are under the direction of the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE.
