Sandra K. (Nee Dennis) Thompson, age 77, of Lucasville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025. Born on October 21, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, Sandra lived a life filled with love, adventure, and a zest for exploration.
While her professional life as an accountant at the State of Ohio Public Safety Department kept her grounded, Sandra’s heart was always drawn to the open world. She took great pleasure in traveling, embarking on countless cruises, and exploring countries far and wide, particularly enjoying her time in Europe. Sandra could often be found happily playing on her computer and navigating the vastness of the internet.
Family was the center of Sandra’s world. She leaves behind her devoted husband of fifty-eight years, John Thompson of Lucasville, her loving daughter and son in law, Michelle and Kevin Stanhope, her beloved granddaughters, Rebekah (Mykel) Hamilton and Elizabeth Stanhope and great grandson, Cash Hamilton all of Washington Courthouse, OH and two nephews James (Anna) and Michael Thompson both of Gallion, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Dennis and Evelyn (Nee Jones) Jewel.
An avid animal lover, Sandra enjoyed the sweet company of her pets, with her dog Roxie holding a special place in her heart. Together, they shared countless moments of joy, love, and companionship.
Sandra will be missed dearly, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, April 17, 2025, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Memorial service immediately following at 3:00 pm, all at FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662.
