From medical emergencies to burglary reports and suspicious vehicles, June 18 proved to be another hectic day for emergency responders across Scioto County. The Sheriff’s Office, fire departments, and EMS crews fielded 70 calls throughout the day, covering everything from domestic disputes to vandalism, road blockages, and 911 hang-ups.
Although the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office stopped sharing detailed call logs with Scioto County Daily News in early 2025, we remain committed to transparency and continue to report every detail available. Here’s a breakdown of the day’s emergency response activity.
🚑 Medical & Fire Calls Flood Dispatch Lines
Medical Emergencies:
A large share of the day’s calls—over 20 EMS dispatches—were for medical issues. Locations that required transport included:
- Sun Valley Ct
- Mead-McNeer Rd
- Napoleon Ln
- Thomas Hollow Rd
- Gallia Pike (Dr. Provaznik’s office)
- Blake Hollow Rd
- Bonser Run Rd
- Wallace Mill Rd
- Careys Run-Pond Creek Rd
Some calls did not result in hospital transport, including incidents on Clairmont Ave, N Jackson St, and at Best Care Nursing & Rehab.
Fire & Rescue:
While no major fires were reported, fire units were dispatched for:
- A false alarm at Nile Fire Department on US Hwy 52
- Disabled vehicles and traffic hazards on Dogwood Ridge Rd, Robert Lucas Rd, and McDermott Pond Creek Rd
🚓 Crimes, Complaints, and Civil Unrest
Theft & Burglary:
- Three burglary calls came from Thompson Hill Rd, Sunrise Ave, and St. Rte. 73—all with reports taken.
- Thefts were reported at Feurt Hill Radio Tower, Cartro Rd, and Glendale Ave.
Assault & Domestic Disputes:
- A report of assault at Foundations Rehab on Gallia Pike resulted in an official report.
- Multiple domestic complaints were logged in Collingwood Ave, 3rd St, and Boren Blvd, all handled without incident.
Suspicious Activity:
- Suspicious vehicles were spotted at Thompson Hill Rd/Tick Ridge Koenig, Wheelersburg Library, and St. Rte. 104.
- A suspicious person was reported near 4th St and Offnere St.
Juvenile & Missing Person Incidents:
- Juvenile complaints were logged at SCORJDC on Cattail Rd and Gampp’s BP on St. Rte. 140.
- A runaway and missing person case was worked on Hackworth Hill Rd, with responders actively engaged in locating the individual.
Threats, Harassment & Vandalism:
- Threats were investigated on Marne Ave.
- Vandalism was reported on Labold Ave and Connie Ave, both with reports taken.
Warrants & Arrest Efforts:
- A felony warrant attempt on Hudson Rd resulted in a “unable to locate” outcome.
- A stolen vehicle was investigated on 9th St, and a vehicle fire was handled by another jurisdiction.
🚦 Traffic & Alarms Keep Units Moving
Traffic Offenses & Crashes:
- An injury crash occurred at Tow Path Ready Mix on St. Rte. 104.
- Motorcycle/ATV complaints were called in on Dogwood Ridge Rd.
- Several road blockage incidents tied up traffic at Coleman Rd, Dry Run Rd, and Gallia Pike.
False Alarms Galore:
- Multiple alarm drops were recorded at commercial locations and residences including Super 8, Big Pete Rd, St. Rte. 522, Flatwood-Fallen Timber Rd, and St. Peters Church on Lick Run Lyra Rd. Most were ruled false or logged for follow-up.
📞 911 Hang-Ups and Public Safety Assists
- A 911 hang-up from Nauvoo-Pond Creek Rd turned out to be a false alarm.
- Sheriff’s deputies assisted other units on Harrisonville Ave, St. Rte. 823, and Gallia St.
- Civil process service was logged on Center St, and a parade escort took place on Riddlebarger Rd.
