Shirley Burgess Boyles, 90, of Portsmouth, OH., formerly of South Shore, KY., passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in South Portsmouth, KY, on December 7, 1935, a daughter of the late Earl and Gladys Plummer Burgess.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Burgess, and one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Boyles.
She lived in South Shore, KY, most of her life, moving to Portsmouth, OH, later in life. Shirley worked in healthcare and senior services, helping veterans. She loved bowling, bingo, and Elvis.
Left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters, Angela (Steve) Armstrong of Smithfield, VA, and Terry Williams of Wilmington, NC; one son, Tim Boyles of Piketon, OH; one sister, Darlene Carter of South Shore, KY; four grandchildren, Zach Armstrong, Jeremy Armstrong, Mike Shipp, and Jasmine Williams; four great-grandchildren, Miles Shipp, Malcolm Shipp, Mitchell Shipp, Josephine Brown Williams and several other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
There will be a private family Memorial Service held at a later date. Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY, is caring for arrangements.
