Officers responded to Franklin Avenue at 7 am, after a resident in the 1300 block said he heard around six gunshots. The caller said he wasn’t sure if they were coming from inside a house or outside.

Police checked with another neighbor who said he heard the shots as well. Officers checked the area but found no sign of anything suspicious. While investigating, they also heard shots, but determined they were coming from the river.
Police determined the shots were duck hunters and the sound was echoing up from the Scioto River bottoms into town.
