The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim in a Saturday afternoon shooting on Lick Run Lyra Road in South Webster.
SCDN was the first to tell you about the arrest of 36-year-old John Moore, who police have charged with attempted murder and felonious assault for shooting his former girlfriend’s father.
Authorities have identified the victim as 46-year-old Joeseph Morris of Fairborn, Ohio. SCDN was the first to tell you about the domestic incident that quickly spiraled out of control after a woman called 9-1-1 requesting that a deputy stand by while she retrieved belongings from the home she’d previously shared with Moore.
However, shortly afterward, she called back to say Moore had shot her father in the stomach. Officers responded to the scene to detain Moore, and medics transported Morris to SOMC, and he was flown to a Columbus hospital by air ambulance.
Moore is currently in the Scioto County Jail and due in court on Tuesday.
