Deputies took a stepfather into custody after a domestic violence incident. A boy called 911 after he said his stepfather grabbed by the back of the neck and threw him out of their home after an argument.
A neighbor told officers she’d spotted the child by the side of the road crying with red marks all over his neck and shoulder. She said the child told her his stepfather slammed him against a wall and choked him before throwing him out the door and telling him to never come back.
When officers spoke to the stepfather, he said the argument started when the boy overslept for school, so he confiscated his PlayStation and cellphone. He said the boy copped an attitude when he came home. He admitted he grabbed him by the arm but denied grabbing him by the neck.
Officers arrested the stepfather for domestic violence and also informed the mother they would be filing a report with Lawrence County CPS.
