Stolen Santa Recovered After 2 Years
A woman contacted police at 6:30 pm to report that she’d spotted a Santa decoration that had been stolen from her porch two years ago on Logan Street on display at a Wayne Hills Apartment. However, she had not reported it stolen at the time.
When officers spoke to the apartment resident, they claimed they found the decoration 5 years ago in New Boston.
However, officers noted the Santa had names from the caller’s family, including their dog’s name written on it.
After a lengthy discussion, the apartment resident agreed to give the decoration back to the original owner.
Intoxicated Man Confuses Cat With Dog
Police responded to an unusual call on 7th Street just before 8 pm. A man called the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office reporting that his neighbor’s dog bit him and hung up.
He called back later, and SCSO determined he was on 7th Street and sent the call to Portsmouth Police. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered that the man was very intoxicated. He had been scratched by his own cat and not bitten by a dog.
There was a dog on the scene, however, it belonged to the intoxicated man and not his neighbor.
Man Claims Neighbor Stole His Pride Flag
An Auburn Street man contacted police to report that a neighbor had harassed him.
He said the man had not threatened him, but did make comments every time he saw him. He also claimed he suspected the neighbor stole his pride flag.
The officer informed him it was a civil matter, though they did offer to speak to the neighbor. He declined the offer. Police also suggested he contact his landlord to see if they could intervene.
