Tweaking at the Dollar Tree
Police answered a call to the Dollar Tree at 10:47 am for a report of an older man tweaking and talking to himself.
When officers approached the man, he said he was preaching. Police noticed some infected spots on his hands and offered to get the homeless man some treatment. He refused help.
Hey, That’s My Stuff
A resident of the Woodbine Apartments contacted police to report the theft of medications. Please took information for a report.
Porch Pirate Confronted
A Grandview Avenue caller reported a woman walking around checking out porches. They feared she was there to steal packages.
The caller confronted the woman who said she was from Adams County and looking for someone. Police could not locate the woman.
$15,000 Guitar Stolen
At 12:37 pm, police received a report that someone entered a burnt house and stole a $15,000 steel guitar.
Officers discovered the item at a local pawn shop.
Welfare Check
- Kentucky Social Services asked police to check on the welfare of two children with autism who had recently relocated to Ohio. Police spoke to their grandmother. She said the children were scheduled to move in but were not there yet. She allowed the police to check the home. There was no sign of the kids.
- Just before 1 am, a caller asked police to check on their grandmother. She is not well and they have been unsuccessful at contacting her. Police spoke to the woman who said she just wasn’t feeling well but didn’t require any medical treatment. Officers advised her to contact her family members who later arrived at the scene.
Suspect Held at Gunpoint on Mabert Road
At 6 pm, police responded to a report of a man arguing with a woman in front of a Mabert Road home. When police arrived, they discovered him hiding under a vehicle.
Officers held him at gunpoint before taking him into custody. He had open warrants from the Department of Corrections and Scioto County Sheriff’s Department.
Police took him into custody.
Suspicious Activity
- At 8:30 pm, a caller reported two people were harassing a woman at an 8th Street home. Police discovered one of the people had open warrants through the SCSO and took him into custody.
- Police were called to Frank N Steins at 9:53 pm for a report of a man acting suspiciously in the alley behind Frank N Steins. The man told police he was cold and putting on warmer clothes. He said he was attempting to get into a homeless shelter.
