Sybil D. Nickel Bentley Hall, 88, of South Shore, KY, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, OH. She was born in Fullerton, KY on June 27, 1935. A daughter of the late Omar Clyde and Ruth Lorena Stevenson Nickel.
She was a faithful Christian and a member of The Church of Christ. She was a great witness and an example of encouragement to her Christian family.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Bentley; second husband, Butler Tracy Hall; one sister, Gertrude Sammons; and twin infant grandsons, Jeremy and Jon Peters.
Left behind to cherish her memory are six children: Teresa (Jeff) Carter of Fairborn, OH, Patty (Wayson) Cooper of South Shore, KY, Dan (Donna) Bentley of South Portsmouth, KY, Glenn (Mary Ann) Bentley of South Portsmouth, KY, Lori Bentley of South Shore, KY, and Samuel R. Bentley of South Shore, KY; one brother, Dennis Nickel; two sisters, Janice Brown and Diana Paquin; Grandchildren: Chris Charles, Amanda Tomasovich, Chelsa Peters, Stephanie VanKirk, Elizabeth Evans, Steven Peters, David Bentley, Cassie Smith, Susan Dillow, Wendy Bentley, Josh Gumbert, Dawnann Campbell, Bryce Bentley and Brae Bentley; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild along with several other family members, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ who will sadly miss her.
The family wants to convey its sincerest gratitude to SOMC Hospital, SOMC Home Health, and SOMC Hospice Center of Portsmouth, Ohio, for their unwavering compassion and care.
Funeral services will be at 11 A.M. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, KY., with Evangelist David Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery in South Shore, KY. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the funeral home from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. and one hour before the service on Friday.
