Tammie Sue Queen, 61, of Wheelersburg went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2024, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. Tammie was born June 18, 1962, to the late Mary Louise (Tackett) Carter and Charles Wesley “Jack” Carter in Mansfield, Ohio.
Tammie worked many years as an STNA at Concord, where she spent her last years as a resident, which she dearly loved. She also enjoyed remodeling houses, which she did for many years in the Columbus, Ohio area.
Tammie is survived by five daughters; Amanda Bentley and husband Lorenzo of Minford, Sophia Blakemore and husband Garrett of Piketon, Angela Queen of Wheelerburg, Roseanna Queen and boyfriend Tony Keever of Ashland, Ky, Tina Murphy and husband Michael of Wheelerburg; a son, Jacob Queen of Minford; one step-son Eddie Queen and wife Gwen of Texas, one stepdaughter Theresa Glasgow and husband Steve of Texas; four sisters, Connie Sparks of Mansfield, Linda Huey and husband Ron of Sciotoville, Wanda Doering and husband Yi of West Palm Beach, FL, Jeannette Carter of Mansfield; two brothers, Charles Carter of Mansfield and Jeff Carter and girlfriend Nancy Stamper of Mansfield; and twenty-six grandchildren;
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Allen Brown III; two sisters, her twin Pammie Lou Carter and Georgetta Davis; two brothers, Mark Carter and Earl Carter; two stepdaughters Tammie Sexton and Mary Queen and one stepson son Stephen Queen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2024, at D.W SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Danny Blevins officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
