Police arrested an area high school teacher for contributing to the delinquency of a child on Monday afternoon.
Officers booked Britni McCann, a health instructor at East High School, into the Scioto County Jail around 5:30 p.m.

Sources tell us the arrest is in connection with an incident where a student who had trespassed from the property showed up at the school’s grand march and prom. Officers detained the juvenile for violating a protection order that stemmed from a bullying incident involving another student.
The mother of the bullying victim says her child quit sports and even attempted home-schooling to get away from his tormentor. She said he was able to take his test and would not be held back for absences.
McCann’s father is the school board’s vice president, and her mother works in the cafeteria. Reports question whether Britni McCann is even a state-licensed teacher.
We contacted the East School Board for comment but have not heard back yet. We will continue to follow this story and update you as we have more information.
