Just after 9:30 on Saturday evening, a call came in to 911 regarding a large fight at the Marathon on Scioto Trail.
The initial report came from a 14-year-old girl who said that they were at the Marathon station to get gas. Some people came out of a nearby house, she reported. The group included males and females. The teen told the dispatcher they were attacked with a crowbar. Before police arrived, the victims drove to SOMC for treatment.
A PPD officer went to the hospital and another to the Marathon to begin investigating the situation.
Once the officer was able to make contact with the group at SOMC they described their attackers. They stated a male stuck one of the females in the head with the crowbar. While giving his report, a male approached the group at the hospital and things flared up again. A male was detained while backup was requested.
Three people were identified by the officer at the Marathon, two adults and one teenager.
The victim at the hospital gave a description of the male who assaulted her and the female who was with him. Police located the female but were unable to locate the male.
This situation remains under investigation. We will bring more details when we have the official police report on Monday.
