A late-night 911 call on Bonser Run Road sent officers racing out around 11 p.m., after a distressed caller claimed two people were trying to rob him — and that he was armed with a crossbow and a pellet gun to defend himself.
🚨 “I Know They Have Guns!”
The caller told dispatchers he hadn’t actually seen the intruders’ weapons, but he “knew they had them.”
He said he believed the mysterious pair wanted the money in his pocket and that they were hiding in the creek or somewhere around the house.
But when officers arrived, they found no suspects, no threats — just a frightened man in the middle of a mental health crisis.
🧠 Officers Shift From Crime Response to Crisis Response
Realizing the man’s fear was coming from a place of crisis rather than danger, officers:
- Lowered their response
- Secured the scene
- Called for an ambulance
- Stayed with the man until medics arrived
Paramedics transported him to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
