A bizarre property dispute took a threatening turn when a woman stormed into a resident’s yard, made bold claims about ownership, and allegedly threatened to harm anyone who stopped her.
The call came in around 11:30 a.m., when a resident phoned the Sheriff’s Office reporting an unknown woman on her property, shouting, “This is mine!” The resident warned dispatchers that if the woman came back, she would defend herself—with a firearm.
Deputies arrived shortly after and located the suspect still in the area. According to the detailed incident summary from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Department, the woman made confusing and aggressive statements about what she believed was hers. Officers placed her under arrest for trespassing and disorderly conduct.
Her name has not been released pending formal charges.
Why This Matters: These aren’t just bizarre one-offs. We’ve covered a similar trespassing case involving false claims of property ownership just last spring.
What We’ve Learned: If you’re going to start yelling about land ownership, you better have a deed—and maybe a lawyer, too. Otherwise, the only thing you’ll be owning is a rap sheet.
