Thomas Franklin Borders, 68, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at his residence. He was born on September 2, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Thomas Milton Borders and Joyce Edna Maguire Borders of Piketon.
On August 5, 1983 he was united in marriage to Candy Groce Borders who preceded him in death on September 11, 2022. Surviving are his children: Tomie (Kenneth) Hughes of Chillicothe, Tracy (R.D. Brown) Borders of Circleville and Derryck (Deanna Whitehead) Borders of Manchester; grandchildren, Jerry, Connor, Gabriel, April, Kennedy, Lacey, Kasey, Skyla, Dakota, Hunter, Gauge, Riley, Keith and Remington; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, William Russell Borders, Zella May Tate and Laura (Timothy) Daulton. In addition to his wife, Thomas was preceded in death by his father and siblings; Earl David Borders, John Michael Border, Charles Wayne Borders, Julie Mercer and Robert Mercer; and his mother, Marie Mercer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Jeremy Schinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Latham Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
