Timothy Allen Shonkwiler, 71 of Minford, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on February 14, 2025 at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
He was a graduate of Minford High School in the Class of 1972. In his younger years he worked in the medical field for the State of North Carolina before returning home to Scioto County to help care for his parents in their failing years. He continued his career in the medical field where he was an employee of Southern Ohio Medical Center for over 19 years before he retired due to his own health. Tim had the best and most upbeat attitude. He gave excellent care to his patients with concern and compassion. To know Tim was to love him and for he was a very kind person. He enjoyed old cars, flower gardens and hard work. He will be greatly missed.
He was born to the late George David and Wilma Jane Shonkwiler on January 22, 1954. He was of the Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Michael Terry Robertson, David Keith Shonkwiler, Howard Dennis Shonkwiler, Mark Thomas Shonkwiler, and infant baby boy.
He is survived by a brother, Gregory Joseph (Pamela) Shonkwiler, and two sisters, Kimberly Jean (Michael)McRoberts and Lori Ann Shonkwiler (Joe Ramey). Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at SOMC, SOMC Home Care Services and Dr. Khoury for continuing concern and care for Tim.
Funeral services are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 18 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford.
