The names, the photos, the interviews — all point to a wide network of human trafficking connected to disgraced attorney Mike Mearan. But behind every file and allegation are the voices of women who deserve to be heard.
The investigative files name at least 25 possible victims, and SCDN has identified 16 women so far: Trista, Brooke, Shurvonn, Lindsey, Nikki, Amber, Kimberly, Krista, Emily, Annie, Brandy, Jennifer, Ebony, Natasha, Gabrielle, and Ashley.
Some were flown to Florida. Some were trafficked to men in Kentucky. Some were sold for sex at football games. At least one was a minor. And investigators believe there are more.
For too long, these women have been dismissed, ignored, or silenced. But there’s still time. Statutes of limitation have not expired for all crimes—especially those involving minors.
SCDN publisher Mark Craycraft issued a direct plea:
“Do you really believe there is only one underage victim? Those statutes of limitations have not run out. There’s still time to come forward. I believe you. We, at SCDN, all believe you. We don’t victim shame or blame. Only in the sunlight can the flowers bloom. You’ve been in the dark for far too long.”
The fight against trafficking in Southern Ohio isn’t just about exposing names. It’s about supporting survivors, listening to their stories, and demanding accountability from those in power.

Because silence protects predators. But speaking out could finally bring justice.
