A worried friend called 911 and asked officers to check on a resident of St. Rt. 139. The caller said he’d noticed a package had been on his friend’s porch for several days. He’d called the friend, but no one answered the phone.

When officers investigated, they discovered a man they believed was deceased. Medics responded to the home and confirmed the resident had passed away.
Deputies contacted the Scioto County Coroner’s Office, which released the man to his family. A local funeral home took possession of the deceased.
