A troubled homeless woman with a long history of causing problems for businesses and even walking into strangers’ homes was at it again.
At 5:30 am, the Counseling Center called to report she was there causing problems. The facility had previously trespassed her two months ago.
Half an hour later, she turned up at the Dollar General and attempted to push the door open.
At 11 am, she turned up at Monroe’s Frame & Collision on 10th Street, and employees reported she caused a disturbance. This time, officers took her to a local mental health clinic, which involuntarily committed her to SOMC for treatment. An officer transported her to the hospital. This is a recurring pattern, though she always seems to be released back onto the streets fairly quickly.
Last December, Thomas trespassed at multiple businesses and even went into someone’s home on Christmas Eve. A woman texted a friend to say the “apparently high” stranger had just waltzed in. When officers arrived, they took her into custody but immediately released her.
About about an hour later. A caller said a woman tried to walk into her Mabert Road home but then walked off down the middle of the road toward Gallia. Officers caught up with her at Taco Bell and took her back into custody.
Thomas was released from jail fairly promptly because officers were called to the Counseling Center at 1:30 pm the next day to say a woman was harassing staff and patients. When officers arrived, they called for an ambulance for the woman and transported her to SOMC for treatment.
