1. Two Campers Burst Into Flames on McDermott Rushtown Road
Just before 8 pm, officers and the fire department responded to the report of a camper on fire on McDermott Rushtown Road.
A witness said they observed a strange vehicle in the area they’d spotted earlier in the day when a brush fire broke out.
When the fire department arrived, they reported two campers on fire on the property. Firefighters extinguished the fires and contacted the Fire Marshal’s Office.
2. Structure Fire on St. Rte. 139
A Rubyville property owner requested that deputies respond to the scene of a fire that happened just after 2:40 pm.
When the officer arrived, the owner wanted to report damage to the property. Since neither the property owner nor the fire department thought the fire was suspicious, officers advised the man to contact his insurance company and submit a report from the fire department.
