Officers dealt with multiple issues involving folks under the influence and suffering from mental health issues.
Harding Avenue callers reported a woman in a gray sweatshirt acting as if she were on drugs just across the street from the school.
However, by the time police arrived, she’d left the scene. Officers thought she might have gotten a ride out of the area.
At 1:30 pm, 11th Street callers reported a man in a heavy coat walking out into traffic. They said he seemed to be under the influence. Officers caught up with the man in the 1600 block of Robinson. They said he appeared to have mental health issues but was not endangering himself or others.
At 2 pm, police headed back to Harding Avenue after callers reported the woman in the gray sweatshirt passed out next to a house in 1100 block. When officers responded to the scene, they discovered she had an open warrant with New Boston Police.
They took her into custody and gave her a ride to the New Boston Police Department. Officers there served her with a summons and released her.
At 8 pm, callers hold men screaming in the parking lot of US Bank on Chillicothe Street. Officers caught up with a man at 7th and Gay about eight minutes later. They determined he was having mental health issues and let him go.
A caller reported a man lying passed out on the grass near McKinley Pool just after 10 am. Officers took the man into custody.
Police were called to 11th Street for a report of a man passed out in a field across from Port 45 Rehab. An ambulance had been dispatched to the man earlier, but he refused treatment. This time, he agreed to allow medics to take him to the hospital.
