A woman went to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office after she said a casual hookup took a disturbing turn when she discovered cameras pointed toward intimate areas of a man’s home — and later learned he and his friends were allegedly watching the footage.
According to the sheriff’s report, the woman said a man invited her to his home to hang out with friends. She told deputies that she and May occasionally hooked up but were not in a relationship and did not live together.
The woman said the two had consensual sex that night. Afterward, May reportedly told her she could get one of his T-shirts from a dresser.
That’s when she said she noticed a camera positioned toward the area where they had been having sex.
The woman told deputies she had not consented to being recorded. She said she laid the camera down so it could no longer capture images of her while she was undressed.
According to the report, the two later went into the kitchen. The woman, who said she was wearing only the T-shirt, spotted another camera above May’s head.
She told deputies she said she was uncomfortable being recorded while partially dressed and asked him to turn the camera off. When he allegedly did not, she said she again moved the camera so it could not record her.
The woman said he became upset about her moving the cameras. She told deputies she attempted to smooth things over by making him food, but when she went to feed him, he allegedly backhanded her, causing a small injury to her lip.
She said he told her to leave, and she did — still wearing only the T-shirt. After driving away, she realized she had left her clothes behind and returned to retrieve them.
The woman said she encountered yet another camera on the porch and moved it because she did not want to be recorded while inadequately dressed. She said he became angry again, and she left.
Woman Says Friends Were Watching the Videos
According to the report, the situation took another turn a few days later.
The woman told deputies he contacted her because he was angry about what she had done with the cameras. During that conversation, she alleged that he told her he and his friends had been watching videos from the incident.
She said that revelation prompted her to report the matter to law enforcement.
The woman provided a statement, screenshots of message exchanges and photographs of the alleged injury to her lip, which were attached to the sheriff’s report.
The report provided does not indicate that he had been arrested or charged in connection with the allegations at the time it was completed.
