Vivian Maura Wetzell, 82, of Portsmouth, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice Center. She was born in Portsmouth on August 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Forrest Eugene and Margaret Sarah Henson Warren.
She graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1961 and was of the Methodist faith. Vivian was creative, and enjoyed doing ceramics and oil painting. She also enjoyed traveling and time spent relaxing poolside. While she was mainly a homemaker, Vivian had worked at Bryan’s, an area clothing store, and Big Value Dept. Store in Paintsville, KY.
She married Robert Leonard Wetzell in Sciotoville on June 19, 1981, and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2020.
Vivian is survived by her two children, Stephen Ray (Jackie) Priode of Richmond, KY, and Michelle Dawn Priode of New Boston; two sisters, Barbara Sue Henson of Cadiz, and Crystal Laura Shepherd of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Justin Chad (Jaime) Priode, Kaci Dawn (Christian) Murphy, Austin Cory Priode, and Tyler Matthew Williams; three great-grandchildren, Ryder Lee Murphy, Leighton Blayne Priode, and Miller James Priode; and a special friend, John Fulknier of Chillicothe.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Vivian was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Matthew Blake Williams and Allison Blake Williams; and three siblings, David Eugene Warren, Gerald Michael Warren, and Margaret Jean Warren Pease.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Ralph F, Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Phil Frump officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
