Walmart Fruit Contaminated With Hepatitis
A warning for shoppers who purchased fruit at Walmart stores. The fruit could be contaminated with hepatitis A, a dangerous liver disease. The potentially dangerous fruit was sold at Walmarts in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, and 29 other states.
The problem comes from strawberries that were grown in Mexico. The strawberries were sold in the frozen food case as Great Value Sliced Strawberries and Great Value Mixed Fruit packaged in 64-ounce plastic bags and Great Value Antioxidant Blend sold in 40-ounce plastic bags.
The potentially dangerous fruit was sold between January 24th, 2023, to June 8th, 2023.
Symptoms of hepatitis A range include fatigue, abdominal pain, jaundice, and dark urine. The infection can cause liver failure. If you’ve eaten the affected fruit, contact your doctor to find out if you require a hepatitis vaccination.
If you have the product, either discard it or return it to the store for a refund.
