Walter “Tom” Clark, 91, of Waverly, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. He was born on August 24, 1934, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Albert and Ethel Clark.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen (Canter) Clark, and his brothers, Bill and John (Kay) Clark. He is survived by his loving sisters, Donna (John) Barkhurst and Carolyn Dempsey; his children, Rick, Angie (John Hall) and Brenda; and grandchildren J.D. (Jenny), Tommy (Taylor), Keri Dunn (Jason), Sara Beth, Baylee Brown (Alex), and Kaitlin Hall, all of who brought him endless joy. Including 4 great-grandchildren Grady, Griffey, Kameron and Louie.
Tom led a full and purposeful life, working many jobs across the country—including several years in the aerospace industry while raising a young family in California—before ultimately returning home and retiring from Freuhauf. Yet his true calling was preaching. Whether behind a pulpit or in a neighbor’s living room, Tom devoted his life to sharing his faith and love of the Lord. His warmth, humor, and deep compassion touched countless lives wherever he went.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly. Burial will follow at Evergreen Union Cemetery on Bridge Street Waverly. In lieu of flowers Tom’s wishes were for everyone to have a Bible. Donations can be made to Gideons International www.gideons.org
Well done, my good and faithful servant.
