A mix-up between police agencies led to the accidental release of a wanted woman.
Just after 2 am, the Ohio State Patrol brought a woman in on open warrants from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office.
New Boston Police arrived with their own warrant for the woman. They served the woman and then released her without realizing she was wanted by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office for theft from a protected class, aggravated possession, and drug abuse.
Officers were unable to locate the woman.
Wanted Man Found Hiding in Closet
Officers found a wanted man hiding in a closet on Robinson Avenue after responding to a call relayed by Greenup County Dispatch.
Just before 1 am, Greenup County reported what they said sounded like a fight on Robinson Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man with open warrants hiding in a closet. He said he called 911 because someone tried to force their way into his home due to a disagreement over a dog.
However, he refused to provide any more details about who broke into the home. Police took him into custody on the open warrant.
Man Paid For Work With Punch in the Face
A man expecting cash for work he’d completed, instead got a punch in the face.
The man said he’d done work for a homeowner, but the man punched him instead of paying him when the job was done.
When an officer spoke to the homeowner, he said the man had agreed to work for $20, but then demanded $50 when the job was done. He said he never punched the man.
The worker did not want to file a police report.
