We’ve reported on multiple incidents of gunfire in Wayne Hills over the past few weeks, but Sunday was exceptionally chaotic with reports of two shootings in two hours.
Just before 5 p.m., a caller said a man shot four rounds in the 1800 block of Kendall before taking off. Witnesses said he shot at a woman’s foot. Officers searched the area, including checking out Linden Avenue, Woodline, the Players Club, and the nearby woods.
Police were unable to locate the suspect but took information for a report.
Just before 7 p.m., witnesses said the man had returned and was hanging out in the 1900 block of Kendall. Another caller said someone was shooting and there was a bullet hole in the area.
Upon further investigation, officers determined that no shots were fired on the second call. However, the shooter from the first incident was spotted in the area.
A few minutes later, a caller reported seeing the suspect in Mound Park. Officers searched the area.
The suspect was identified as Damar Arnold.
His street name is said to be “C4.” Arnold has a lengthy arrest record for drug trafficking, weapons, and violence.
Sources revealed to SCDN that there was a drug bust in Wayne Hills on Saturday evening. According to their accounts, Arnold was attempting to collect the proceeds from the sale of his drugs. Upon finding that there were no drugs and no money, they reported that Arnold became irate and went on this rampage.
Citizens have banned together, including members of the Mound Park Neighborhood Watch, to keep an eye out for Arnold.
On Monday, a caller reported spotting him on foot in Wayne Hills just before 4:30 p.m. Police were unable to locate him when they arrived.
At this time, Arnold remains at large.
