Shortly after 11 pm on Saturday, PPD was alerted to a shooting in the 1600 block of Jackson Ave.
A caller contacted 911 to report that her father had been shot in the leg. According to the female, she did not know who shot the victim.
The caller advised that there was a shotgun in the home. However, they claimed it was put up and not related to the incident.
3 PPD units and Medic One responded. The officers ensured the medics were able to approach the scene safely. They requested a detective to the scene. In addition, CPS was requested to be contacted.
The male was transported to SOMC.
Officers were asked to obtain the identities of everyone in the home and determine their exact location at the time of the shooting.
The detective arrived on scene and an officer headed to SOMC to check on the victim and hopefully obtain his statement.
CPS arrived to assist with the children on the scene. Officers located an additional gun that was not disclosed. They impounded the revolver.
