Willis Boyd Barker, 90, of Minford, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 21, 2021, at Edgewood Manor in Lucasville. Born May 1, 1931, in Halcom, KY, a son of the late Walter Scott Barker and Carrie Elizabeth (Lyons) Barker, he was a pipefitter and a member of Harrison Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of Pipefitter’s Local #392 of Cincinnati, Hepburn Masonic Lodge #576, and Lucasville Eastern Star #495. Willis enjoyed working in the garden, making sorghum, welding, and telling stories to whoever would listen.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Darlene (Skaggs) Barker; one son, Roger (Gwyn) Barker; two grandsons, Col. Ed Barker and his fiancé Amy, Tom (Bethany) Barker; one granddaughter, Dawn (Matt) Barker-Potts; three step-grandchildren, Robert, Angie, Kevin Madden; three great-grandsons, Farran Barker, Jaden Barker, Asher Barker; one step-great granddaughter, Genevieve Siegel; a sister, Marie Clark and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Wayne Barker, and two brothers, William Floyd Barker and at birth James Harvey Barker.
Funeral services will be conducted Noon, Wednesday, June 26, 2021, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Mike Mounts officiating. Friends may call 5 pm to 7 pm Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Additional services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27 2021 at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, where friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm.
