A woman landed behind bars after she allegedly hit both her mother and a police officer just after 4:30 pm.
Officers responded to Washington Street after a report that Cynthia Lane hit her mother in the head with her purse and took off toward Tracy Park.

When officers caught up with the woman near People’s Bank, she tried to hit them and managed to smack one officer in the face.
Officers attempted to have her sent to a mental health facility in Columbus, but they refused to take her due to insurance issues. Police booked her into the Scioto County Jail for disorderly conduct.
